Community Guidelines
Community starts with us.
These guidelines explain the behavior and content we expect so Crowd can remain welcoming, respectful, and safe.
Crowd Community Guidelines
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
Crowd is a social platform designed to connect like-minded people and groups through shared interests, communities, events, places, and real-world plans.
These Community Guidelines explain the behavior and content we expect from everyone who uses Crowd. They are designed to help keep the platform welcoming, respectful, trustworthy, and safe.
By using Crowd, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines in addition to our Terms of Use and Safety Guidelines.
1. Our Community Standard
Crowd is designed to help people build friendships, join communities, discover shared interests, and make real-world plans.
Crowd is not intended to be used primarily as a dating, hookup, or sexual solicitation platform.
We expect everyone using Crowd to contribute to a community that is respectful, genuine, and safe.
You may not use Crowd to:
pressure other users into romantic or sexual interactions;
repeatedly pursue someone who has expressed that they are not interested;
use messaging, Circles, events, or other features primarily for sexual solicitation;
misrepresent your intentions in order to manipulate or exploit another user; or
engage in conduct that materially undermines the friendship and community purpose of Crowd.
Meeting someone through Crowd may naturally lead to friendships, relationships, or other personal connections. These Guidelines are not intended to police consensual relationships between adults. They are intended to prevent harassment, pressure, exploitation, and misuse of the platform.
Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in content removal, warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent account termination depending on the severity and circumstances.
2. Respectful Communication
Treat other users with respect in profiles, messages, comments, Circles, events, and in-person interactions.
Disagreement is allowed. Harassment and intimidation are not.
You may not:
harass, bully, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another person;
repeatedly contact someone after they have asked you to stop;
send unwanted, aggressive, degrading, or deliberately hostile messages;
encourage other users to target, shame, ridicule, or harass someone;
make credible threats of violence or physical harm;
engage in repeated behavior intended to frighten or pressure another user;
use personal information to threaten, embarrass, or intimidate someone; or
retaliate against another user for blocking, reporting, rejecting, or declining to interact with you.
Respect another person's boundaries. A lack of response is not permission to continue contacting someone indefinitely.
Conduct that occurs during an in-person interaction may also result in action against your Crowd account where we reasonably believe it creates a safety risk or violates these Guidelines.
3. Hate and Discrimination
Crowd does not allow content or conduct that promotes hatred, dehumanization, exclusion, or discriminatory harassment against individuals or groups based on protected or personal characteristics.
This may include characteristics such as:
race or ethnicity;
national origin;
religion;
sex;
gender;
gender identity or expression;
sexual orientation;
disability; or
other characteristics protected by applicable law.
You may not:
use slurs or degrading language to attack another person or group;
promote hatred or dehumanization;
threaten or encourage violence against people based on a protected characteristic;
repeatedly target someone with discriminatory harassment;
organize or encourage exclusionary harassment; or
use Crowd to promote organizations or conduct primarily dedicated to hate or violence.
Users may discuss personal beliefs, culture, identity, religion, politics, or social issues. Those discussions must still comply with these Guidelines.
Having a preference about who you personally choose to connect with does not give you permission to demean, harass, or attack other people.
4. Authenticity and Profiles
Trust is an important part of meeting new people. Crowd users should represent themselves honestly and should not intentionally deceive others about who they are.
You may not:
impersonate another person or organization;
create fake, fraudulent, or deceptive profiles;
use another person's photos as though they are your own;
knowingly misrepresent your age;
create accounts using bots or automated systems;
operate accounts primarily to deceive, scam, manipulate, or harass users;
falsely claim an affiliation, credential, occupation, or identity for fraudulent or harmful purposes; or
create a new account to evade a suspension or permanent ban.
Your primary profile photos should reasonably represent you.
You may use the name or nickname you ordinarily use, but you may not use a name in a way intended to impersonate another person.
Do not place highly sensitive information in public-facing profile fields, including:
passwords;
financial account information;
payment-card information;
government identification numbers;
another person's private contact information; or
another person's home address without permission.
If Crowd offers verification features, verification may provide additional information to users but does not guarantee a person's identity, intentions, conduct, or safety.
5. Sexual Harassment and Explicit Content
Crowd does not tolerate sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, or unwanted sexual behavior.
You may not:
send unsolicited sexually explicit messages, images, videos, or other content;
pressure another user for sexual conversation, photos, or activity;
repeatedly make sexual comments after another person has shown discomfort or asked you to stop;
threaten, blackmail, or manipulate someone using intimate or sexual content;
share intimate images of another person without their consent;
solicit or promote sexual services through Crowd;
use Crowd primarily to seek hookups, sexual encounters, or sexually explicit exchanges;
engage in sexual harassment during events, meetups, Circles, or other interactions connected to Crowd; or
post unlawful sexual content or content involving sexual exploitation.
Consensual conversations between adults are different from harassment. The key is consent, context, and respect for boundaries.
Sexually explicit or highly provocative content may be removed where it is inconsistent with the intended purpose of Crowd or our content standards.
Any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required by law.
6. Scams, Fraud, and Financial Exploitation
Crowd may not be used to deceive, defraud, or financially exploit other users.
You may not:
request money using false, misleading, or manipulative claims;
operate scams, pyramid schemes, fraudulent investments, or deceptive business opportunities;
impersonate a person, business, or organization for financial gain;
solicit passwords, banking information, payment credentials, or other sensitive financial information for improper purposes;
send phishing links or other deceptive payment requests;
pressure users to send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, tickets, or other items of value;
misrepresent your intentions in order to obtain money or property; or
use Crowd primarily to direct users into fraudulent transactions.
Crowd is not a payment platform and does not guarantee or supervise financial arrangements between users.
Be cautious about sending money to someone you first met through Crowd. If a user asks for money in a suspicious or deceptive way, block and report the account.
7. Spam, Promotion, and Mass Messaging
Crowd is designed for genuine social connection, not repetitive solicitation or spam.
You may not:
send bulk or repetitive unsolicited messages;
send the same generic message to large numbers of users without genuine social context;
use automated tools to message or interact with users;
repeatedly send unwanted links, invitations, or promotional material;
use misleading links or redirect users to deceptive websites;
create accounts primarily to advertise products or services;
repeatedly promote businesses, services, events, or opportunities in places where that promotion is irrelevant or unwanted; or
disrupt conversations, Circles, comments, or feeds with repetitive content.
Legitimate sharing is different from spam.
Users may naturally share events, creative projects, businesses, professional opportunities, or other interests where relevant to the conversation or community. Promotion becomes a problem when it is deceptive, excessive, unsolicited, or inconsistent with the purpose of the feature being used.
8. Dangerous, Illegal, or Harmful Conduct
Do not use Crowd to organize, encourage, promote, or facilitate conduct that is illegal or creates a serious risk of harm to another person.
You may not:
threaten, encourage, or commit violence;
stalk or physically intimidate another person;
organize or promote unlawful activities;
sell, distribute, or facilitate the unlawful distribution of drugs or controlled substances;
encourage dangerous challenges or conduct likely to cause serious injury;
promote or facilitate human exploitation or trafficking;
use Crowd to coordinate criminal activity;
distribute malware or malicious links;
encourage another person to harm themselves or someone else; or
use weapons or threats involving weapons to intimidate other users.
Content discussing difficult or sensitive topics is not automatically prohibited. Context matters. However, content that encourages imminent harm, criminal conduct, or serious exploitation may be removed and may result in account action.
Where required by law or necessary to address a serious safety threat, Crowd may preserve or disclose relevant information to appropriate authorities.
9. Privacy and Personal Information
Respect the privacy of other Crowd users.
You may not:
publicly share another person's private information without permission;
post another person's home address, telephone number, email address, workplace details, financial information, identification documents, or other sensitive information for the purpose of harming, intimidating, or exposing them;
threaten to reveal another person's private information;
use information obtained through Crowd to stalk, harass, exploit, or defraud someone;
collect or systematically harvest personal information from Crowd without authorization; or
create or distribute fake profiles using another person's personal information or photos.
You should also protect your own privacy.
Avoid publicly sharing highly sensitive information such as:
your home address;
financial account information;
passwords;
government identification information;
highly specific travel or lodging details; or
other information that could put your privacy or safety at risk.
When meeting someone new, consider keeping early conversations within Crowd until you feel comfortable sharing additional contact information.
For more guidance, review our Safety Guidelines.
10. Events, Circles, and Real-World Plans
Crowd allows users to discover, create, join, and participate in Circles, events, activities, and other real-world plans.
These features must be used responsibly.
Organizers and Creators
If you create an event, Circle, meetup, interest check, or social plan, you should provide reasonably accurate information about:
the purpose of the activity;
date and time;
location;
expected participants;
participation requirements; and
material changes to the plan.
You may not intentionally create misleading, fraudulent, dangerous, or unlawful activities.
Participants
Participants are responsible for reviewing activity details and deciding whether they are comfortable participating.
You should communicate reasonably promptly if your plans materially change.
Repeated intentional no-shows, deliberately misleading RSVP behavior, or abuse of participation features may result in restrictions when the behavior materially disrupts organizers or other users.
Payments and Expenses
Unless Crowd expressly provides a payment feature or states otherwise, users are responsible for managing their own:
tickets;
transportation;
food and drinks;
lodging;
shared expenses; and
other costs associated with an activity.
Crowd does not supervise or guarantee informal payment arrangements between users.
Safety at In-Person Activities
Use reasonable precautions when participating in real-world activities.
Consider:
meeting in public or populated places;
telling someone you trust where you are going;
arranging your own transportation;
protecting sensitive personal information;
staying aware of your surroundings; and
leaving if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Participation in an event, Circle, meetup, or other activity does not mean Crowd has verified the organizer, attendees, venue, or activity.
For additional recommendations, review our Safety Guidelines.
11. Platform Manipulation and Ban Evasion
Crowd may not be used in ways that manipulate the platform, interfere with its operation, or circumvent safety and enforcement measures.
You may not:
use bots, scripts, crawlers, scraping tools, or other automated systems to access or interact with Crowd without authorization;
artificially inflate engagement, participation, RSVPs, views, reactions, or other activity;
scrape, copy, harvest, or systematically collect user information or Crowd content without authorization;
interfere with or disrupt Crowd’s systems, servers, networks, or security features;
attempt to bypass technical restrictions or access controls;
create or use multiple accounts to manipulate activity or avoid enforcement;
use VPNs, proxies, altered devices, or other technical methods for the purpose of evading a suspension, ban, restriction, or other enforcement action;
attempt to regain access after permanent removal without Crowd’s permission; or
encourage or assist another person in violating these restrictions.
Crowd may take reasonable technical or account-level measures to prevent abuse, fraud, spam, manipulation, or ban evasion.
12. Blocking and Reporting
Crowd provides tools to help users manage unwanted interactions and report potential violations of these Guidelines.
Blocking
If another user makes you uncomfortable or you no longer want to interact with them, you may use Crowd’s blocking features where available.
Blocking may prevent or limit that user from contacting you, viewing certain information about you, or interacting with you through Crowd.
Blocking someone does not necessarily submit a report to Crowd.
If you believe another user has violated these Community Guidelines, please also use the available reporting tools so our team can review the conduct.
Reporting
You may report:
harassment or threats;
scams or fraudulent behavior;
sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual conduct;
fake or deceptive profiles;
hate or discriminatory conduct;
dangerous or illegal activity;
privacy violations;
spam;
prohibited content; or
other conduct you believe violates these Guidelines.
Please submit reports honestly and in good faith.
Knowingly filing false, retaliatory, or abusive reports may itself violate these Guidelines.
If there is an immediate threat to your safety or someone else’s safety, contact local emergency services or appropriate law enforcement authorities.
13. Enforcement
Crowd may review reports, content, account activity, and other relevant information when we reasonably believe these Guidelines, our Terms of Use, or other policies may have been violated.
Depending on the nature, severity, frequency, and circumstances of the conduct, Crowd may take actions including:
issuing a warning;
removing or restricting content;
limiting visibility;
restricting messaging or other features;
removing a user from a Circle or community;
temporarily suspending an account;
permanently terminating an account;
preventing a user from creating new accounts; or
taking other reasonable actions necessary to protect Crowd and its users.
Crowd is not required to use every enforcement step in order.
Serious violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal without a prior warning.
We may also consider relevant prior violations, patterns of behavior, attempted ban evasion, or conduct involving a serious safety risk when deciding what action to take.
We are not required to disclose every detail of a safety investigation, report, or enforcement decision, particularly where doing so could compromise another user’s privacy or safety.
14. Off-Platform Conduct
In some circumstances, conduct that occurs outside the Crowd app may still result in action against a Crowd account.
Crowd may consider off-platform conduct where we reasonably believe it:
creates a serious safety risk to Crowd users;
involves violence, sexual misconduct, stalking, threats, exploitation, or fraud connected to a Crowd interaction;
occurred during or in connection with an event, meetup, Circle, or other activity arranged through Crowd;
demonstrates an attempt to evade Crowd’s safety or enforcement systems; or
materially threatens the integrity or safety of the Crowd community.
Crowd does not monitor users’ lives outside the Services and does not attempt to investigate every allegation involving off-platform conduct.
However, where credible information indicates a serious safety or integrity concern connected to Crowd, we may review the matter and take appropriate action.
15. Appeals
Where Crowd provides an appeal process, you may request review of certain account restrictions, suspensions, content removals, or termination decisions.
An appeal should explain why you believe the decision was incorrect and provide any relevant information that may help us review the matter.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that an enforcement decision will be reversed.
Crowd may uphold, modify, or reverse a decision after reviewing the available information.
Repeated, abusive, fraudulent, or bad-faith appeals may be limited.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional information or appeal rights.
16. Changes and Contact Us
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as Crowd evolves, new features are introduced, safety practices change, or legal requirements develop.
When we make changes, we will update the effective or last-updated date displayed with these Guidelines.
For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Crowd app, our website, email, or another reasonable method.
